So the Catholic Church has prayers for everything, right? There's Mass all but one day of the year, to begin with, but also morning and evening prayer for every day as well. The evening prayer always anticipates the next day, like Christmas Eve anticipating Christmas itself. Sometimes, though, a feast is anticipated or celebrated for longer than that, and Christmas is one of those.
The seven evenings before Christmas Eve each have a special antiphon; they all go together. They all start with "O", so they're the "O Antiphons"; each one addresses God by some title. You might already be familiar with them as the verses of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel".
I thought I'd share a little drawing of each of them as we get to them... but please feel free to draw and share in the comments!
